Shepperd's Dell SP

Shepperd's Dell Waterfall: This small waterfall is tucked away from the the Historic Columbia Highway, which makes it easy to breeze past. Itís worth a stop.

The curved pathway that leads to the simple, graceful & absolutely beautiful Shepperd's Dell Waterfall is a little jewel in itself.

View the Shepperd's Dell, Latourelle Falls and Bridal Veil Falls Video.

The road above winds around a great pillar of Basalt called Bishops Cap, which forms the east gateway to Shepperd's Dell and is a basalt tower undercut to accommodate the half tunnel.  It was necessary to cut under the side of this rock in order to secure the full width of roadway and permit a good sight ahead. Notice the dry masonry, stone guard rails & rock barriers.
